STARDUST props, any around??

as title says, the film Stardust has a few good props. the necklace and diamond they are all looking for, a babylon candle. the letter from tristans mother to him as a baby.

anyone know if the necklace has been done at all?

The glass dagger should be easy enough to make. It's a common stained glass color/pattern. Just need to score it with a glass cutter, grind the sharp edges down with a dremel (if you want it to be quasi-safe), then wrap the handle with black leather strapping.

Why not make it "totally" safe, casting it in tanslucent (semi-clear) resin? :confused

Or better yet, a smoke colored piece of translucent acrylic/Plexi cut to shape, pretty much like the pictures on the the Propstore site look.

a.) That's no fun

b.) Resin or glass, it's only gonna be good as a display piece anyway, so why spend a $100 on resin and mold stuff and the time casting when you can buy the glass for $8 and have it cut in 5 minutes?


Edit: I suppose the stunt daggers in the movie though were just acrylic sheet with faux-stained glass paint you can buy in the craft store.
