Hello!
A small Return of the Jedi mystery has been solved on the 5th of August 2013 (finally)!
Dengar actor's identity has been cleared!
In the movie The Empire Strikes Back it was known that Mr. Morris Bush was the actor who played Dengar's role (famous bounty hunter scene) but there was no certainty who played the part in episode VI.
There was The Fett-Tastic Four panel at Celebration Europe II in Essen, Germany. On stage there were Jeremy Bulloch, Dickie Beer, John Morton, Daniel Logan and later Temuera Morrison joined them (-> Fett-Tastic Five). Warwick Davis was the host.
I had a chance to ask a question from the prestigious guests. I directed the question to Mr. Bulloch and Mr. Beer because they were on location when the Jabba's Palace scene was filmed. The question was if they remembered who played Dengar in Return of the Jedi, of course.
Mr. Beer just mentioned that he never saw the guy close, only from far. Mr. Bulloch hit the jackpot. He clearly remembered the 6'5" wrestler type of a man. He most likely said his name then too but I couldn't be sure. I was tearing the hair out of my head. So close but yet so far!!
I've been chasing the video clip of that panel since without any luck. Yesterday evening I received a message in Facebook from a guy who had that specific clip and agreed to send it to me. Perfect!
What made my day today was Jeremy Bulloch's answer to my message. I told him that I had missed the name if he had said it on the panel. He confirmed it.
Dengar in Return of the Jedi was... Morris Bush!!
Mr. Bulloch added that unfortunately Morris died in 1995.
