Star Wars Merr Sonn Power 5 Blaster for 50p

title should probably read Star Wars Merr Sonn Power 5(ish) Blaster for 50p

I decided to have a crack at making Merr Sonn Power 5 Blaster in a day using only a 50p toy gun & various bottle tops & pen lids :lol

basically as something to do whilst my other projects were drying,

as you can imagine this isnt really an exercise in accuracy, it's just for fun :)

The base gun is probably the cheapest, nastiest least accurate Mauser around :lol really soft, bendy plastic but it was 50p from the local market

Nothing but impressed with your stuff so far, so I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do here.

so using the pictures on the POSW website as a guide (that I couldn't hope to follow) I set about cutting up various bottle tops & pen lids to stick on in a basic approximation.

I decided I wasnt going to (& didnt have time) to change/modify the gun itself so I'd live with the inaccurate shape

in total I used a yellow detergent bottle lid, 2 pen tops, 2 watch batteries, a washer. I used a spout from a funnel & intersurgical connector for the flash hider.

I cut about an inch off the barrel & the flash hider was a perfect fit onto it (lucky)

then I gave it a quick coat of primer.

Luckily it was a warm day so the primer dried quickly, I gave it a quick couple of coats of Satin Black & got on with some other things while it dried :)

Then it was just a case of weathering (the still slightly tacky) blaster & adding the coiled wire.

for this I used a bit of cable/wire from a broken speaker powe plug which was unhelpfully straight :lol I wrapped it around a pen to try & put some coils into it.

Then I just glued it onto the top of the gun, I left the jack on one end.

not that you can tell but I painted the grips a different type of black for contrast

I'm actually quite pleased with the flash hider, I got a load of the green connector parts from work (they were going in the bin) but only had one funnel guess that was all i needed :lol

I gave the whole thing some weathering & it was done,

so there you are a Merr Sonn Power 5(ish) blaster made in a day, probably took about 3hours not including drying time

I know it's not accurate & not anywhere near the league of some of the builders on here, it was just my little attempt at building something out of nothing, well not nothing a rubbish toy mauser :lol

total cost excluding paint ... 50p

Is it accurate No, was it a fun little build for a Sunday afternoon YES

! This is awesome! I'm doing a similar thing, but I'm splurging :(

Great Blaster, considering the origins! Thank you for sharing

Looks great! :thumbsup

About 20 years ago I found some desert camo colored broom handles at the local Toys R Us and used them to make some Han blasters. Brings back some memories.:lol

Avolow.

Hi Mate
Do you make this for someone to purchase? I would be interested in one of this. How much would they cost shipped to Malaysia?
I dont need it painted...as it may not pass customs. Unless you paint it yellow. then i can repaint here

I made this last summer, one of my first Blaster builds just for fun,

Had another go at the Merr Sonn recently using mostly Doopydoos resin parts

cost a touch more than 50p but used quite a few spare parts to put it together so not too bad :lol

Can I ask where you found the intersurgical connector? I'm in the middle of doing a similar style blaster & that connector looks perfect compared to what I can find online.

I work at a hospital & they just had a bunch of those connectors being thrown out,

not sure where you'd find them other than hospitals :lol

I think I've got a bag of them somewhere

(oh, 200th post :)

Yeah the only place I can find them are from medical wholesale suppliers in batches of 50, but I have to register to get a price. I only need 2 at most, so if you do have any going spare I would be most interested in a deal with your good self.

I had a bag of those green intersurgical connectors & I'm pretty sure it's still in the loft,

Where are you in the world?

If I can find them I'm happy to send you a few (being as it's christmas :lol)

If your in some far flung destination I might ask you to cover the postage

I'm in the UK

PM me if you like

I'm in the UK too. I've managed to bag the same cheapo toy gun & am following your build to make a alternative merr sonn.

Great Merr-Sonn. Ive got a resin replica, but this one is cool taking the cost. Well done
