Star Trek XI Uniform shirts

The pattern for the shirts is damn easy, the work to make one is not over time-consuming, we basically know the fabrics used, the hard part would be a run of dye-sub jumbo spandex fabric with the delta pattern on it... that's the only thing that is hard to have right now...:(

Hold it, hold it...JEANS were used? Anyone got any idea on what kind? I only saw the film once, and I spent more time trying to get my kids to sit still than looking at props and costumes... :(

Yeah, Jeans. The guy who does those Star Trek the new voyages was an extra on the set of the movie and stated the pants were commercially available black jeans. I would say they are 'easy fit' jeans - the ones that taper at the bottom of the leg.
Talk about cutting production costs! It costs more to have custom wardrobe peices made so I suppose all the budget went to the sets and sfx. Why pay a wardrobe department to custom make boots when you could just buy 'off-the-shelf' DKNY and some jeans.
But it's nice to know jeans are still around in the future.

Well after seeing Engineering it didnt go to the sets! :lol

No kidding! Did you notice the entrance to Scotty's outpost when Kirk and old Spock entered? It was an ordinary 20th century metal door with an ordinary 20th century push-to-open crossbar. In the corner above the door was a 20th century bullhorn-style public address loudspeaker, and its wires entered a 20th century aluminum wiring conduit. I'm surprised there wasn't a big red EXIT sign over the door... that's a violation of the Starfleet fire code for sure!

:lol It was very noticeable!

It took me out of the film for a second with thinking, "Huh...they're still using those doors instead of the automatic sliding ones....and the visible wires...?"

Well, to be fair, the movie takes place a couple of hundred years from now, and that base might have been there for over a hundred years. So it stands to assume that it could have been an old and dilapidated structure.

I mean, doors haven't really changed that much in the last few hundred years, have they? I actually commented on it when watching it and thought it was a nice touch. :)

Yeah the background Pumas werent as high as the hero DKNY. Steve referred to them as Puma High Tops and they had the Puma Logo on them. Also, Cawley confirmed what I said last year about the insignia being cast metal as opposed to resin or rubber and the 3M tape used to secure them to the uniform.

I just sent a PM to Indy Magnoli regarding doing these shirts.
If he is able to take on the project, I will go ahead and buy the 'costume cards' off Ebay and send those along to him, along with any and all images I can find online.
I suspect a decent deposit will be needed in order for him to start the project - so assuming he is able to do this, how many of us are willing to 'take a leap of faith' and invest some loot to get things started?
Anyone here familiar with Indy Magnoli knows he is one of the best out there when it comes to product and service and I have NEVER read any bad review about his work. I myself, could not be happier with my dealings with him and I am crossing my fingures that he gives the green light for this project.
I would like to start an official list of all members who are interested in one or more of these shirts. It is my intent to have all three colors made, along with the black undershirt (which I believe is what Kirk wears for most of the movie - in which case, the undershirt has the delta shield in black)
I would be wanting a command shirt, and a female red skirt for my GF. and possibley a blue shirt too (pending final price). I suspect a reasonable price for these shirts would be in the $175 - $200 range depending on production costs.
If anyone here are members of other boards related to this topic and can give a shout-out to anyone else interested, please do so as I believe the more people we have on board for this the more likely we can have them made and at a reasonable price tag.

I would like to see what got maul is doing as well, but I haven't heard anything yet from his camp so I wanted to 'cultivate multiple options' and throw the project idea towards Indy.
