Star Trek XI Uniform shirts

Bump

I went into Photoshop and used the three wallpapers to average out the shape of the insignia, and I'm using it as a template for creating a set. Two layers of styrene: the base with division logo cut out, and the lip. Stack 'em, clean 'em up, throw down some rubber, etc..

3" looks right to me, but I'm a small guy, I may be underestimating the size of this thing.

A low cost alternative might be cutting a stencil and spraying/lightly misting paint over the fabric.

Would anyone be able to do a cad square of the pattern? Maybe we could get these laser cut.

The quality just wouldn't be there. And neither would the stretch.

Well, depending on how cheaply the laser cutting could be done, this could be the super-cheap budget alternative without going to rubies. :lol I can sew, but I probably wont be able to afford the printed fabric that will eventually rear its head.

Here a few days ago I saw a giveaway on a food item for a "Command shirt", has anyone else seen this, or does anyone have any info on it? I can't seem to remember what brand of crackers, etc. was going the promo. Unless of corse I dreamed it. :confused

It's a Kelloggs promotion, through their cereal and some of their cracker brands. Actually, while the crackers specify Gold and the cereal specifies Blue or Red, the forms inside allow you to order any one of three, provided you've got 9 of the tokens (one printed on each box) or $9.99 when you send it to them.

I've already ordered the Engineering/Security shirt (within a week of the boxes hitting the shelves) and I'll be getting Science/Medical when I get another box. Command Gold doesn't jive with my skin tone, though. I'll take some pics and a quick review when it arrives. I'm hoping like hell the insignia is a metallic applique and not a simple heat transfer, but I'm expecting the latter.

I was wondering if there were doing any of the other colors, glad to hear they are. So you can just send $9.99 and skip the whole tokens thing, right?

EDIT, and I'm sure they'll be heat transfers. But I was already thinking they could be covered up with something....Better. :lol

as stated numerous times before, dgasser and i are on this. This does not preclude anyone else from doing these but as anyone can attest to our standard of accuracy - we're pretty dedicated.:)

Me want. Me got money, me buy you bet.

You need one token per shirt, but it's right there with the order form so you only need to buy one box unless you're purchasing multiple shirts.

Yup, working on that myself as well. Won't be at the same level as the ones on here, but it's a pride thing. :)

I'd proboly have to buy one to replace it, lol. But I found a box of CHEEZ-IT DUOZ today for one of my shirts, I'll proboly get the captain shirt....

Any update on your timeline? I need enough fabric to make one shirt and one of the dresses.

Is there anyone else working on a run yet?

I know there are a few of us here in SoCal interested in doing a few shirts and/or dresses. I know I'd be down for red and blue, and maybe a gold. I like the red despited being a garanteed goner...

could always wait until someone buys one of the new movie's costume cards and have them reverse engineer the small swatch of fabric.
