star trek voyager fans - depressing video

Wow...why would they even pick Trek as a category when they don't even know the first thing about it? Yes, sad indeed!

Well, it was the last category.... they clearly avoided it until they no longer could. But yeah. I think I watched three episodes of voyager and I knew all of those.

Well "I" got a laugh out of it. Especially the one guy's Hail Mary guess of "The bridge" for the Doctor. :lol

Those questions were ridiculously easy for Trek fans like ourselves, but clearly these kids never watched a single episode of Voyager (and probably no other Star Trek series).

If Jeopardy had a category on Firefly or Babylon 5 I would be just as dumbfounded as they were. ;)

Please tell me you have seen firefly.

I feel sorry for everyone involved. EVERYONE. The contestants, the cast/crew of Voyager, whoever pitched this idea, the folks who negotiated with CBS/Paramount to let this happen, and the contestants who were totally oblivious to the "connect the freaking dots!" questions.

This hurt everyone.

Agreed, if you haven't...shelve any preconceived notions, and borrow it from somebody. I have a friend who Loathes Sci-Fi, but Loves Firefly.

As for the Contestants, They probably all watch PBS only.

I'm a HUGE Voyager fan... and I would have gotten those right.

Except I would probably forget to phrase it in the form of a question....

Does anyone know when this episode aired?

I think what we're beginning to see is the generational gap. Voyager was on 1995-2001, so any teenager today would have just been born when Voyager was starting. I haven't personally seen it replayed much, so you can't really blame them for not knowing about a show that was one when they were babies.

If you think about it, there hasn't been a Star Trek show on television in seven years. It's not too hard to believe that teenagers know little about the franchise...

I don't know, but it looked like it was filmed during the run of the series (Neelix was in makeup, they didn't talk about the show as if it was "finished", etc.).

Those segments with the cast were shot specifically for the show, so it was while it was on the air.

what is november 6th 1999?

Boca Girl Advances In Teen Jeopardy! - Sun Sentinel

Can you imagine being on the show and answering, 'holodeck' for where the doctor was restricted before his mobile emitter? I have a feeling that alex would have said, 'ooh sorry it was sickbay.' then having to explain that holo emitters were installed all over the ship allowing him access to the bridge as well as the rest of the ship ... and then getting taken to the center of the stage and stoned to death by all of the jocks in the audience.

:lol :thumbsup

It's funny though- I would not have thought "holodeck" even though it technically would have been correct. I must be slipping. :lol

I did think "cook" for Neelix rather than "chef"; I wonder if they would have accepted that.

Actually I also thought "Chief Morale Officer", but that's a different story. :lol
