Check out that link - That's some pretty sweet prototyping.

I'm jonesin for a SS D-7 to go against my MR Enterprise. Anybody know if the Custom Replicas Kit is available anywhere? If I can't get a CR D-7 I'd be interested in a deal on an Atomic City D-7 if anybody has one gathering dust.

I too have been lately wanting a SS D-7. After all, the D-7 was the first Trek kit I ever bought (the old AMT kit with lighting). Does anyone know much about the Atomic City version? I have been looking at it for a long while.

If you check out Scott's Website there are some very good build up threads. Accurizing and clean assembly seem to be issues with the Atomic City Kit. I think I'd prefer the Custom Replicas Model. I've dropped them an email, but no response so far.

I'm not sure the Custom Replicas Model is a kit. If you click on the "accurate models" tab on their homepage their range of kits are shown and the D-7 isn't in there. It looks like a one off recreation unless as their name suggests the model is made and painted to order.

a 1:350 K-7? Whoah dude you must live in the air & space museum!

I was getting that feeling off the custom Replicas Site too - But I thought I recallled someone doing a build up & co,mparing it to the Atomic City D-7. Hmmm...

I have both. The Atomic City is finished and under glass and the Custom Replicas is (regrettably) still in the box waiting for time and space (and warm weather) to begin.

both are mighty fine kits. the chief difference is that the body of the AC is joined left and right and the CR is joined top and bottom. If pressed I would say the CR is a crisper and smoother resin casting.

another big difference is in the presentation. The CR comes with a much more elaborate stand and dry transfer decals where the AC has water slide decals and a simpler base.

then there is the price difference.

Thanks for the info AZ - Could you PM what the Custom Replicas Kit go's for? Do you think I'll get an email back from AR/CR then?

Thanks, Todd
