Spiderman 2099

Hey again lads and ladies of the RPF.
This will be my second costume addition to this magnificent site.
One thing I've seen a lot of while browsing the forums is Spiderman threads.
Can't blame you there, Spiderman kicks some serious ass, but damn. How about a little variety?
Well... I took it upon myself to provide that variety.
So, without further ado, I give you my Spiderman 2099 costume, complete in all its glory.
*Disclaimer* I, literally, finished this costume last night and immediately took it to the gym for a test run on the gymnastic bars, so the pictures aren't photoshop fresh. This is more of a little tester so you can have a look. I'm lining up some professional shots in the next week or so. AND I'll be taking this costume to the EB Expo in Australia, so keep an eye out for me if you see me there.
Double and. If you're interested, hit me up and I'll do a step by step of materials used and crafters hired to put this together.

Majestic as fark. I don't need molded plastic to improve my physique. Pure. Walker. (My last name.)

Hey man suit looks good. I just recently bought a file from orhadar and was told I had to resize it because I'm 6'5". I hired someone to do it for me and they told me it wasn't possible because its not a psd. File. Did you have to resize yours and if so how did you go about doing that

I didn't have to resize it since I'm about 6.0 even.
Might be worth hitting up orhadar again and asking if he has any tips or info on resizing - not really something i know much about. Sorry.

Really good looking suit. How are you seeing out of it though?

Yea... That's the downside. I really can't.
If the room is well lit enough I can see shapes and movement at close range but at a distance i'm useless.
I'm trying to sort something out there with minimal impact on the face area.

That's suits a beauty man! Hoping you'll reveal who did your print.

No surprise there my man.
Mr Orhadar did it up for me.
When i asked for it, it wasn't really in hot demand, so i spent a bit of time with him nailing down some of the particulars.
But it's all good to go!
Hit him up, i'm sure he'd be happy to help you out.
His name on the RPF is simply orhadar but you can also find him on facebook under the tag Gun Head Design.

Nice! I'm familiar with the gentleman in question. Once again that's a great suit, you wear it well man.

Thank bud!
I actually ripped a fair few parts of it when I originally put it on.
Somewhere between giving my measurements to the seamstress and it actually arriving I put on about 3kgs.
So I tore out part of the back, leg and shoulder section.
I've got it all fixed up now but it was a pretty funny few minutes.

wow dude. this suit really does look fantastic! do u plan on doing the web cape as well with it?? hope u can work out the visibility =)

I had considered it but there are some variations of 2099 that don't include the web cape at all. I find this look much sleeker.
Also, in my test runs with a web cape I found it gets in the way when I do photo shoots that involve me hanging upside down. I'm pretty gymnastically fit so I do a lot of that.
As for the vision, I think I'll just have my girlfriend lead me around at conventions or hang out in a well lit part of the show floor lol.
OR! I can take my mask off and just put it on when peeps want a photo.

Cheers for the kind words though.

Do you have any issues with hanging upside down and your grip? I would be worried that my hands would slip and I would fall flat on my face. I know in my old Spidey suit my hands were pretty slippery.

Yes and no. I do a lot of gym work, gymnastic exercises in particular, so I'm pretty good with grip.
The suit did make it a little harder but the biggest problem, by far, was actually seeing the bar to begin with. It's a good meter or so above my head so I had to bob up and down on the spot till i could feel it in my hands then do a giant leap of faith.
I held that position for about 3 minutes or so, as I was getting tired I just wrapped my legs over the bar instead to take the pressure off my wrists.
It's gonna be interesting doing that upside down thing in public/on location though. Fun times ahead!

LOL yea u might be better off having ur gf lead u around or go with the mask off a while... definitely wouldnt wanna alter the suit in any way that would ruin its integrity. such a great look. and as for the cape it seems ur right considering all the poses u can do, would be best not having it. excellent job! cant wait to see more pics =)

Brilliant build; shame about the webcape and not being able to see, but I guess you gotta go with what works best. Still an impressive suit non the less.

For me, it's really about how good the thing looks.
I'm willing to sacrifice a little vision to stand out in a crowd.
In my experience, good cosplayers just spend all day standing in the one spot posing lol.

Right on bro, you look great!

I'm working on my own 2099 suit right now and aim to make our lord Zyzz proud as can be haha.

Love your wrist spikes especially. What're they made from? I was planning on using Batman fins for 'em whn I do it, but I'm curious about yours.
