Okay, so one of my next projects is to make a spear from the two Mace Windu lightsabers. My questions surrounds painting/sealing the lightsaber blades so that the paint will not flake off when the spear extends. Any suggestions? I know some of you guys on here have made spears in this manner. I was considering a thicker poly sealer, but then I am afraid the blades won't extend smoothly. Thanks in advance!

Rustoleum makes a plastic primer. I've used it in the past (Not specifically on a saber, but other things that have flex...) and haven't had any issues...
