Just thought I'd share a pic of my 'Kestrel' scratchbuild. It's based on an Eagle from SPACE: 1999.
I'm only going to post the one pic, as there's a full feature of the build in volume 15 of Sci-Fi and Fantasy Modeller, with lots of pics and a detailed description of its role in the SPACE: 1999 universe.

Thanks for looking!

Right out of season III!

Those are some big engines pointing forward.
Something must be up with that.

Nicely done!

Don't take this the wrong way, but looks slightly like "roadkill Eagle" or one of the boned ducks you see in Chinese restaurant windows.

:lol
You know, that's exactly what my wife called it when I was working on it!
'Mm, looks like roadkill.'

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I LOVE IT it's stunning!!!!!!!!:thumbsup
Thats a great variant I like it more than the original,
you did a great job with the variance and keeping the old
originality in there!!!

:$
That's very good of you, 3d-builder - high praise indeed - it's really appreciated! Thanks!

She looks great.

Looks like a multi-role Eagle.

A mix of the Transporter, Laboratory and Fighter / Hawk.

Congratulations, it looks like it would fit in the 1999 universe perfectly.

Very cool! I always loved the Eagle and this looks like another variant that could actually exist.
Just curious regarding the spine on the Kestrel. The Eagle was a modular ship with a large center section that could be changed out depending on its mission. So the spine tied the forward and aft sections together. Is the Kestrel supposed to be a modular ship as well?

Thanks clanger68 and Superjedi!

I included the spine as a visual reference to the Eagle.
I did toy with the idea of not including one, but the model didn't look right without it.
The central section containing the port and starboard docking connectors / doors descends in my mind's eye - a self contained airlock for use on a planet's surface - so the spine would perhaps aid stability in this instance.
Although the design of the Kestrel doesn't require a connecting spine from a structual point of view, neither did the Hawk, which also featured one.
