Did anyone manage to find a source for the correct size spring for the hammer in their Noisy Cricket kit?

Thanks

I don't have a pic, but you can use those small springs found in old VCR's, maybe someone else knows the correct name of them

I just received today a finished unobtainium Noisy Cricket I bought in the junkyard.
I would like to know, if its possible to install a torsion spring in the hammer of a finished NC, because I don`t know how to remove the already assembled caps from the pin:

anyone tried that on an already finished Noisy Cricket ? I am anxious to destroy the caps or the pin and that I won`t be able to re-cap it.

and my NC is missing a small black part:

anyone knows where to get that from ??

and last but not least the LED is not very bright. are there any other light kits or even sound kits out there ???

The spring is placed in the inset in the hammer and the pin goes thru both. So you have to take the caps off to put in the spring. The caps are only pressure fitted and they come off fairly easy. Just be careful and go slow. I used the dull side of a dulled xacto knife blade to slide in and gently pry it off. Remember you only need to take off one cap. You can slide the one with the remaining cap/pin combo out together.

I've had two of these and only one had the small black piece. I just made one for the other, using the top aluminum shell as a circle size guide, and the bottom aluminum body for the notch.

If the wires are already there you can just replace the led. I used one from radio shack and it worked great. Here's a link to the one I used...

If you find a sound kit, let me know because I haven't.
Hope that helps...
