OK, this made me cry. For some reason, my bid didn't go thru at all, or I would have had it:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230240308920&ssPageName=ADME:B:EF:US:1123

This should have gone for a really high price. It is one of the best animatronic controllers ever built (yes, better than Henson's, because it was built by a former Henson employee who developed it for them). An awesome piece of hardware, and absolutely a one-of-a-kind item! No recasting this!

I still feel dizzy from not winning it...:sick

Wow, that is pretty amazing. And dirt cheap too. I would think that even from a parts perspective, that has to be worth a good chunk of change.

Yeah you got that right! "This item would probably cost a minimum of 50K to build." Someone got a bargain there!

What a fascinating bit of kit, sorry you lost out Rick.

Sorry to hear about your bid not going through. :(

Somebody, did indeed, get a deal!

Imo you should report it to eBay. Not just because you lost, but to let them know this bidding glitch is there, to prevent it from occurring in the future.

Sad you lost out, though.

I'm afraid I can't think of any way to trace the fault. Might have been an issue with my server, might have been ebay's server, software failure...

I suspect the most likely culprit is the automated remote bid software I used. The bid was supposed to go thru automatically, but no bid was recorded. I don't see any way of knowing if the bid was never placed, or never received, or blocked, or what.

:cry
