Sneak peak at my comic book styled Dr. Doom suit

Hey guys and gals. I've been slowly building up a comic book styled Doctor Doom costume. Always wanted to do one. I partially suited up for the first time to check general fit and was happy with how it's turning out. I've still got some work & fit tweaking to do, but I'm close.

Here's a run down of the suit so far-

The mask is my own sculpt and cast out of resin.(my first real go at any helmet/mask sculpt casting).

Armor is parts of modified SW clone armor(forearms, leg armor & hand guards), mixed with some of my own shaped pieces, made out of Foamies/bondo & coated in Plastidip for durability.

Painted/weathered with spray and acryllic.

The hood is a really nice satin lined moleskin cape I found thru Ebay. I built up/modified the cape clasps from some jewerly discs I found.

The tunic is a nice heavy weight twill.

Still working on-

Belt & buckle
Leg armor & boot covers
Gloves
And need to attach shoulder armor in place, line with foam to raise up
Hem tunic to make a little shorter

Well, enough of the talk, here's some pics(sorry for the iphone pics, regular cam was dead)-

Any comments, criticism, etc..always appreciated. Thanks for looking!

I will be wrapped up with this for Emerald City Comic Con in Seattle. I was hoping to grab a pic with Stan "the Man" Lee, since he was one of Doom's creators. :love If anyone is at ECCC, be sure to grab me and say hello!

I will have some pics of the finished suit near the end of the week and after the Con, I'll be sure to post so everyone can see the rest.

Man I think that suit is going to be awesome. You have especially caught the right pose with your eyes mate lol I just had to laugh.

I think a bigger hood and a green suede would go better but that's just my opinion. I love it. What are you doing for kick ass gauntlets?

Thanks Taz.

The Hood was actually pinned back there, so I can open it bigger if needed.(I'll try it out).

The gaunts are modified from a set of clone armor I got from a guy on the 501st boards for cheap.

Yeah.....hood needs to be voluminous (is that a word ;) I meant the gloves.....they clone too?

Your shoulders and chest might need some padding as the face looks a little big for the costume at the moment.

I love what you used for the cloak clasps. Look the part for sure.
