Sleepy hollow tree of death

It's been awhile since my last post. I'm hoping I'm in the right thread. I need to recreate the twisted tree of death from sleepy hollow. 1/8 scale. I have poor to not so good clay skills. I'm also trying to keep the weight down as low as possible. Any suggestions or build ideas out there?

Air clay over a twisted aluminum wire (several gauges) armature sounds like what you want. At 1:8 scale, your lack of skills won't matter too much, and you may surprise yourself at how much fun it is and how well it turns out. Get good photo images and go to town. Have fun!
