Skins And Armor Together

I was wondering if there was a particular reason a lot of people seem to prefer having the skins and armor molded together in the latex and just painting it. Instead of having a full skin so to speak and have the armor/belts like loose over the body like it would be in real life.  It is just ease of assembly/painting or is there something I am missing here?   I started building my armor pieces from the templates that were provided and was just curious to other members ideas/reasons for this being the case.

Not speaking for everyone, but the results speak for themselves.  People choose many different ways to get to the same result, a costume they enjoy.  The single latex shirt and pants and such look awesome and having a single piece rather than a bunch of smaller parts to put on, and keep track of, might be the way to go for some.

One big reason I hear many members say that have armor attached to the skin helps from the armor damaging the suit if it was separate. The armor can rub on the skin and wear or even peel the paint job. I'm going to be gluing alot of my armor to my suit for this reason.

I'm not saying its bad looking so I hope I didn't offend anyone. I was just wondering what the possible reasons could be.

That makes sense I didn't think about that. It is hard to prevent that sort of problem so making the one whole piece might be the way to go. Food for thought

It all depends on the kind of skins you use.  Armor sculpted on the skins make it much easier to suit up, and makes sure things stay in place.  All my armor is separate due to the fact that no one makes skins in my size, so I went the Mr I route.  It's a pain to suit up and keep all the armor in place, but it works for me.  The original movie sculpt had all the armor sculpted into it, so most just do it that way.  Either way you do it, if done correctly it can look good, it just depends on what you want.
