Sith Cosplay- First Project on RPF

Hello fellow Smugglers, Sith Lords and Jedi Knights, I have been lurking around the RPF for about 8 months now and I have to say that it is truly an Honor to be able to witness all of you wonderful, creative people make and create these amazingly detailed and screen accurate props and cosplay.

So now after the last 8 months of gathering knowledge on basic cosplay and prop making I feel that I am capable of starting my own project. I'm planning on doing Sith Armor for this project. I have drawn a rough sketch of how I want this to somewhat look but it may change. Feel free to give me any tips or suggestions. All help is greatly Appreciated.

Awesome! Can't wait to see it man. Hey, have you looked into fabric at all - I'm trying to find out what to use for Kit Fisto's tunic.

So I started working on my chest and shoulder templates. they came out fairly well but I later realized my chest template is too wide, so I had to cut it in half and shorten it by about 2 inches. I'm now transferring it to foam.

I started transferring the templates to foam, FINALLY!!



What do you use when you don't have pins to keep the templates in place?

Haven't had much time to work on this, but I do when I can.

I fortunately was able to work on it for a while today. Got some of the chest piece done.

Looking good, are you going to add some depth by i.e. adding some foam on top like on a Vader chest armor or are you just carving in some details like ridges?

Thx bro, and yeah I am going to add some depth to it. I'll use the craft foam sheets( I think 3mm) then cut out strips to the appropriate dimensions then attach them using contact cement

Started making some progress on the shoulder armor. Still have to sand the edges and add some craft foam to make it pop a little more

Just went for a supply run. Picked up some more Eva foam, razors, sharpening stone, and sanding sheets. Can't wait to get started up again
