SingleSeat's Boba Fett blaster -- The Empire Strikes Back

The classic example is when I see people stating as fact that the greeblie under the V-8 kit connecting rod on this blaster is the V-8 kit pulley. Or that the ESB sidearm is a darn Nemrod - horsepucky. No proof of either one, but many hobbyists mow right over the information without noticing and build, build, build.

I was the one that started the V-8 pulley info.
There is proof in at least in one ESB promo photo. The beveled and stepped edge and holes in the center are visible. You may have missed the comparison photo I shot to prove it.
As for the sidearm - Everyone thinks it's a Nemrod because it's in a Nemrod holster. That's not necessarily proof of the gun's identity though.
The ASI - while the name itself is apparently covered by paint, the dimensions match exactly. We also know that Bapty had ASI scopes because they put on on the gun used in Alien.

ASI 4x20 scope.............................................Lordsandy
AMP/Molex connectors....................................Steveday72?
MPP flashtube...............................................Lonepigeon
AM Aerial/Earth Connectors ("split plugs" slang)...Lonepigeon???
Revel V-8 Connecting rods...............................Spidey2222?

I think my photos of the split plugs may have helped the search, but it was someone else who nailed them down.

The V-8 pulley might be a candidate, but other ref photos including Art's latest HD screenshots conflict with that one. Plus it's dimensions are questionable. I know what you mean about the Nemrod, I was just pointing out that the assumption dominates popular opinion. As for the ASI, I'm only pointing out that in its purest form, still has to be assumed to be correct -- as you stated based on its dimensions. My only point is that everything needs to me continuously questioned to find the right answers.

Care to post pics or at least describe what scene shows the part clearly?
I can get my own HD caps if you don't want to post Art's.

Edit - I see now that you used the timing gear off the V8 instead.
I'd be interested how you came to that conclusion.
The diameter does look better and the same part was used to cap off the Bossk blaster.
The raised center even lifts the lever to a nice height to clear the back of the Webley. File off a few tabs and it fits perfectly.

Actually, I think there may be some good pics in the cloud city vader/fett reveal scene. Close on the greeblie, but I'll hold off on describing that in detail. PM responded to.

Verrry interesting on the pully vs. timing gear. I did notice that you used something other than the pully...I have a pully, but have yet to be convinced enough to add them.

From an old promo pic I have the timing gear looks more plausible......

EDIT: BTW, I love ESB EE-3 threads :)

From all those promo pics and screen shots, it looks like the prop took a real beating on set with stuff falling off right and left. Heck, you'd probably still be screen-accurate to some extent without the receiver greeblies.

Even in some of the carbon freeze scenes, the back right molex has broken off. And of course the V8 rod is on, off again, on again, oops, it fell off again....here, sir, this fell off your blaster in the hallway back there...

Any news reg. the possibility of sharing the source/ identity for the mounts/ clamps?

Cheers, Markus

Sorry, didn't see the earlier post OdiWan. Gents, no harsh feelings because I understand your questions and I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm really fried on this prop for personal reasons. The pictures are out there, but that's about it for me right now. It's in a corner and I'm not going to look at it for awhile. I probably shouldn't have posted it in the first place, sorry. Thanks for your positive comments guys.

So the mounts, which were not listed in your breakdown originally, are actually FOUND parts as well, correct?
I totally respect your position, but on the other side I don´t understand why you´re hesitant to share the source for a generally available item. Don´t get me wrong, there are the people who can´t share pics of specific props due to legal or NDA issues...o.k. But I guess that´s not the situation here, right?

Anyway :unsure

I found a few aquarium hose clamps that show pretty much identical detailing, but the overall shape of the models I found was not correct. But I´m pretty sure thats the way to go.

Here is a pic of what I´m talking about...

Any ideas?
