Silver Seven of Nine Fabric Star Trek Voyager

Does anyone know where the Star Trek Voyager Silver Seven of Nine fabric is available? The Fabric is a dull silver that is a 4 way stretch fabric - it just photographs shiny. I estamate the speckling to be approx. 1/8 of an inch in size and I believe the speckling to be a foil. Below I have a picture of a swatch of the fabric, I got the picture of the swatch from a Star Trek Communicator Magazine - I don't actually own the swatch. I have also put up a Hi-Res picture of Jeri Ryan in the costume (please excuse the loading time) so you can see how the fabric on the costume is speckled like the swatch. Any info on where to purchase this fabric would be greatly apprieciated. ( 7 of 9 7of9 )

Thanks,

JJ :)

WOW,

Thanks for that pic, I forgot how good looking a borg could be.

Can't help you with the fabric, but good luck.

I would assume a lurex fabric similar to what was used for Catwoman's costume in the 1960's movie/series but I'm not 100% positive. It's at least a good jumping off point.

That was a 2 way stretch lame where the glittery dots are created by the lame strips in the weave.

This is usually called a foil dot or similar. I believe Stretchhouse has some in a few weights.

Unfortunately the photos are blurry but the pin dot looks like the dots are random as opposed to regularly spaced.

Search terms are foil spandex and dot for google :)

And I too thank you for the large file ;) I did buy some fantastic supportive silver fabric for myself when all I had were the figurine and lower res images to work from. This makes life easier as the fabric is much easier to work with than what I bought ;)

Also check with Sommers Fabrics on the internet. They specialize in this type of weird fabric/metallic material stuff. Good Luck !!

I checked + emailed the following sites but have not been able to come up with the correct fabric:

SpandexHouse
AnythingStretch
StretchHouse
SpandexWorld

Also - I must be a dumb A-- because when I try Googling Sommers Fabrics I can't find them - if anyone has a link, let me know.

Thanks,

JJ

I was looking for something else and spotted (pun not intended but it's too bad to not keep) this.

You could ask for a swatch to compare the backing fabric.

Remember also the fabric will have dulled over time. I have used a lot of foil fabrics and they really dull very quickly indeed.

Thanks! That's good to know. The look of the fabric just reminded me so I figured I'd give my 2 cents.

Hope you find the fabric you're looking for!

I got a swatch of that fabric - it's not a match - that is more of a glitter than a foil. I found 2 fabrics that would be correct except for the pattern - these are a "snake-skin" pattern but if they were more speckled they would work.

This fabric I found on ebay - I told the seller what I wanted the fabric for and sent them the pictures of the swatch and Seven of Nine I posted above - but the seller was too lazy to send me a close up of the fabric to see the pattern.

Did you check JoAnn Fabrics? If they don't have it at the store, they may be able to special order it. I've had pretty good success with them, as long as you find an employee who knows fabrics.

I did and did not see a match - but I will try to contact them and see if they can order it.

thanks,

Hey everyone! I know this is an older thread, but I thought I'd see if anyone has had any luck with finding the fabric to make a Seven of Nine costume from Star Trek Voyager. I'm looking into it for next year's Dragon*Con in Atlanta, GA.

Thanks!

Wow that is a project and a half. I wonder if you could track down anyone who worked in that department at Paramount? It would be task to do but do able???
I own one of Seven's purple body suits with matching corset. The silver threads make it veryyyy hard to photograph as it comes out as blue. The amount of craftsmanship that went into it construction is amazing. As it's all fitted panels custom to her body.
I wish you best of luck and will ask my contacts whom are former staff if they know someone from that former dept?
Mike
