Sideshow Terminator T-700 bust - Strip & Repaint

Hi guys,

I recently bought a damanged Sideshow T700 bust with the intention of taking it apart and stripping the paint, so I can repaint it the way I'd like it. I've had it for a bit and haven't really taken any strides to work on it, as it turned out to be fairly cool looking as-is. Though, I'm not much a fan of the hammered paint look and the places on the bust where the paint has peeled off shows that the cast itself is clean and smooth.

Has anyone tried to strip the paint off one of these and may know which stripping agent works best on getting the paint off quickly without damaging the underlying resin? Also, do anyone know if it is possible to take the bust apart and can share how they did it, as I need to pull it apart to fix the lighting fixture. Has it been screwed or glued together or both? If taking it apart isn't an option, then I would at least try to strip it and get it repainted.

Thanks man. Will try that. Have used brake fluid previously, but was scared off from using it again when it ate into the resin on a high end Vader helmet.

There's a product called Ready Strip.
Never had a problem on plastics, but I'd still do a test spot first.

Forgot to update this thread. I may have posted about it in other threads, but thought I'd give an update.

Used acetone to get much of the paint off, but couldn't get it out of grooves and recessed areas or where there was a lot of detail. Need to do something else to get that out.

Here are some pictures of the acetone stripping progress:

I was thinking sandblasting could be an option, but I cannot find anyone offering dthat service and the parts needed for a DIY construction isn't readily available here. So doesn't seem like an option I can use.

Well, if they are possible to get within Europe, it may be easier to get them, than the ones I've seen from the states.. I will have to look into it and what sand-blasting material would be best.
