Hey RPF crew —
I wanted to share a personal project I’ve been quietly building for a while now: BehindTheFX.com, a site dedicated to the world of practical effects—the creatures, gags, goo, and genius that made so many of us fall in love with movie magic in the first place.
This is my attempt to celebrate the art and craft behind the scenes—think:
DIY slime effects
Creature builds and makeup FX
Old-school behind-the-scenes breakdowns
Plus some education resources for teachers and young makers
It’s been a labor of love built between pharmacy shifts, parenting, and wrapping up a teaching degree. I’m running it solo, but my hope is that it becomes a kind of creative lab and archive for fellow fans of foam, latex, and retro ingenuity.
