sexy pair of nylons!

That's funny... I knew right away that this thread was about whips.:lol These whips are really nice, and man do they ever crack! Nice job, Ron!

For those of you interested in making your own whips...
I can do a tutorial for the nylon whips...it'll take about a week as I need to get caught up on a couple of things. Or even an on board project if you like.
For first whips I would suggest a 4 foot snakewhip . (A short bullwhip with out the rigid handle), or the little more difficult 6 ft bullwhip. If you are interested post here.
Once you have the materials we could build them over a weekend.
Core on Fri, belly on Sat, overlay on sun.
By monday you'll be crackin'.
Ron
Wow, that's a great idea! Although my schedule wouldn't permit my participation in a weekend on-board project (however, I could check in on it from time to time during). But I would REALLY be interested & grateful to see a tutorial for the 6 ft bullwhip. :thumbsup :thumbsup

I have indeed seen one of these firsthand. It cracks like a cannon, and hurts really bad when you catch the back of your ear with it. Very well made, and a real pleasure to handle.

Ron, it's nice to see you over here!

I for one would love to see you do an online walk-through.. I was trying out some of the stuff from the sites you posted and all I achieved was frustrating and confusing myself :p
(the migraine probably didnt help much either) ;)

I will be doing the tutorial next week. As soon as I get some more paracord in...
For those of you following along if you want to gather some materials you are going to need
Paracord... 200 feet should do...but get 300. Its cheap.
Lamp pull chain (6 feet) Home depot
Galvanized spike 8 inch (Home depot # 988-561)
Good electrical tape. 3m or similar.
lacing needle perma lok jumbo (tandy leather) and/or big upholstery needles asst sizes (any craft or fabric store)
Artificial sinew (Optional but highly reccomended) Tandy or web.
Ordinary houshold tools.
More to come. This will be the method I used to make my first whips...the materials are readily available.
We will be getting going on wed or thurs.
