Serenity FIREFLY Class STARSHIP Blueprints COMPLETE Reference Set

Hi, does anyone have the newer set of Serenity Blueprints? I am thinking of scratchbuilding the mule and wondered if this is possible from the drawings in the set. From what I have seen on google images, they look like drawings rather than technical blueprints, so wondered are they scaled?

Has anyone built from these blueprints?

Thanks

Are you talking about the QMx materials? The book or the poster? I have both. The posters are drawings like the Incredible Cross Sections Star Wars books. (In fact, I think they may even have been drawn by the same guy.) The book has much more flat, blueprint type iso views, but not in the basic line-art style, they are full color images with "stuff abandoned in place" ... in other words, show and movie appropriate props are included strewn about the ship. Also, the book manages to massage the sets to actually fit inside the exterior model of Serenity, and there are some subtle surprises about how that works.

Images of the Mule are included. The side and front get big renderings on their own page, but, curiously, the top is only included as a smaller image on a page with deck plans of the cargo hold. But it should be enough to get you started while collecting details about the back and bottom from production stills or clips from the movie.

Both products are quite good, but I've never built anything from them.

Oh, and also, they are of the movie version of the ship, not the TV show version.

Cheers Alex, but is there a scale?. I was talking about the QMX book version and the Serenity movie Mule. I have already collected snapshots of the mule but do not know what overall size it is meant to be in real life so to speak!

As you have both versions of the QMx material, are they equally usefull in going for a mule build?

They are definitely useful, I'm fairly sure that it has a scale legend. I can't remember if the cross sections have any more detail than the blueprints. You should be able to find some great photos of the real prop since that's gone around a lot, like on Flickr or something which would be a good supplement to the blueprints.

Yes, a scale is provided at the bottom of the page.

The poster set is two double-sided sheets, one of which I have hung up on my wall, and the other of which, I can't for the life of me recall where I put it. So, I don't recall exactly what the image of the Mule looks like. In fact, since I don't want to take the poster down, I can only speak with confidence about one of the images: the cutaway version of the forward quarter of Serenity. The other images were the rear quarter of Serenity, the Mule, and, I wanna say a shuttle?

Just a sec...

Check this out, there's smaller images of the posters on QMx's website, gives you a good idea of what to expect, at least for that product.
