Here's some info about the restoration of the original w/additional articles regarding the creation. You should be able to follow some to pics. "I can't believe the stickers they've stuck on this thing!"
Thats the thing. Of the two that I know of that were made for the show, there seem to be "quite a few" out there. I had an offer to buy one of the "screen used" cars but I am not 100% (frak, even 25%) sure it is really one of them. And I am not at the house where I have my dvd's to do some research.
There may be an issue with id'ing the original converted cars as the parts I believe were all off the shelf. I used to see those conversion cars all the time here in LA during the 80's. Those and Fiero conversions as well as Lambo kits were all the rage back in the day. It was the new disco van of the 80's before mini truck/raised toyotas and the iroc/mustang wars which lead to the fart pipes and stick on wings/scoops on import cars....
But one thing stands true for the past 50+ years, each brand name sticker on the side of a car adds between 1hp and 3hp depending on the brand. Thrush alone adds a +3hp!!! I have 3 or 4 on the inside of the trunk on my 65 Falcon, its a sleeper.
