Sci-Fi add-ons for real firearms?

I'm wondering if there's ever been kits produced, on a sci-fi theme, that you can add to real firearm platforms like the AR-15? I guess attachment to picatinny/M-Lok rails wouldn't be a major issue but of course they'd need to be robust enough to withstand firing.

Who wouldn't want an Oblivion kit for their AR?

Is there anything out there?

(Apart from me of course!) :D

People have done real-fire versions of things like the DL-44, of course (although not as a kit, AFAIK). I haven't seen kits for AR shrouds, but I have seen a couple of interesting add-ons that worked well with paint jobs. The 9mm AR pistols get visually interesting because you can easily go so short with the barrel. There's a guy that used a FAB Defense podium on a 9mm with a Mass Effect paint job that I thought looked really good.

The CQR AR stock and fore grip (which will work with the sci-fi drum mags, or regular mags) is the most "turn a real gun into a sci-fi thing" upgrades I know of.

Argh. If anyone knows what sling adapter that is required for a Hera+standard AR, please PM me.

I think an addition of AR pistol brace to your rifle makes it look great.

I noticed some of the sci-fi movies uses that accessory. I got this article from quora about some accessories you can add to a rifle for a sci-fi theme.

And also, I read this from a good site about AR pistol braces. It's really simple to add and effective for operational use.

Let me know what you think. Thanks:)

I was just looking into a Charles Day PAK-9, which is basically an AK-47 style action smushed into a pistol platform, with a 9mm magazine well (uses Beretta 92 Mags, but has a Glock mag adapter). That thing looked Sci-fi in its own right. And for less than $500, I may end up with one.

I don't know off hand of any commercial grade manufacturer of sci-fi movie gun stocks. I imagine there would be licensing and liability issues that would get in the way.

I wouldn't mind dressing up one of my rifles as an A280 Endor Commando rifle. Might be an excuse to build a new AR.
