September is right around the corner folks and it's time, once more for Scarefest.

Welcome to ScareFest - The US Top Horror and Paranormal Convention

So far I see the Frog Brothers from Lost Boys will be in attendance. (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander)
Also Sean Astin will be there as well as many other horror film faves. Several of SyFy's paranormal tv personalities will be there, as well as celebrity impersonators and special effects/makeup personalities.

I know from last year that there is something called a Portal Event that is all gaming all the time of pretty much any kind of gaming you could imagine with a heavy emphasis on dice driven and roleplay driven games. I had been around friend that played Call of Cthulhu before but never played myself and took part in a L.A.R.P. event they had for it. It was fun even if I really had no clue what I was doing.

I see that this year they are having a first of it's kind event for the Convention - Tat2Palooza and will be featuring folks from Spike TV's Ink Masters Season 2.

There will be all kinds of events to take part in as well such as the movie fest that will take place at the Kentucky Theater just down the street on Friday and Saturday. Tied in to that is a lottery for a ghost hunt that will take place in the old decorative theater after the movies. I'm not sure how that works exactly and I haven't taken part in that before but I've been in the Kentucky Theater many many a times in my youth for midnight Movies and can tell you it's a gorgeous old theater the likes of which they do not make anymore. I can totally believe that place is haunted. It's one of those places that still has a big stage where the screen drops down and there's balcony seating. It's awesome.

I know in years past there was also a haunted house kind of thing that worked in conjunction to the convention as well but last year it was canceled and last year was the only year i have been able to go. I don't know if it's still on the menu or not.

I know they provide free entertainment throughout the convention, a costume ball that's free to attend (I believe) and there's the VIP party that happens in the bar upstairs from the convention center that always has entertainment and karaoke and yes, the celeb guest do come and mingle and hang out at the party. Several of the True Blood folks and some others (such as psychic Chip Coffey) were there last year. It was a blast!! :)

From what I understand there will be more guest added as filming schedules and commitments are cemented and finalized (as much as they can be! Showbiz.. what can ya do?). I'm really looking forward to it this year and will be volunteering for Security as well so I might see some of you folks there! :)
