Here's a few pics of my latest creation, Sasquatch from Marvel Comics' Alpha Flight created for DragonCon '09. The costume is 8.5 feet tall, 6 feet wide at the shoulders. I'm on 2 foot painter's stilts, look out of the chest, have 4 interior fans, have a Hulk voice changer in the mask with microphone coming down to my mouth, a camel-back installed in the back, and I even have a walkie-talkie attached inside so I can hear my handler. I wear a mascot cooling cap and cooling vest while wearing this.

More pictures of Sasquatch and the entire Alpha Flight group from DragonCon '09 can be found on The Superhero Costuming Forum here. (You'll need a YUKU account and have to apply for membership (rubber stamp) to view the pics.)

The costume is created mainly out of Upholstery and Minicell foam, 165 square feet of Mongolian Rust fur from plushfurs.com and over $150 worth of glue (contact cement, hot glue sticks and Super 77 spray adhesive). A Hulk mask was used as the base for the head. The hands and feet were carved out of foam, covered in muslin strips, coated in latex, painted with latex paint, and sealed with a latex paint sealer from FX Warehouse.

Awesome as always!

Hey Allen, I remember you saying what a pain all the fur trimming was.
Did you get it all up out of the carpet?

Wow! How did I miss this at DCon? Now fix it so we can all see the group pics as I'm far too lazy to sign up for an account over there.

The suit is currently in pieces in my Florida room since I'm going to be making some upgrades and modifications to it. When I'm finished, I'll be using my duct tape dummy to put the entire suit standing up on display in my office- it's simply too large to store anyway else but vertically, and since my office has vaulted ceilings.... :)
