Does anyone know what carriers it goes to after it goes through customs? I just want to know if it will be delivered by USPS or UPS ect.

I was gonna ask Russ, but he may not even know.

Thanks in advance!

Mine just arrived today and came via USPS.

It certainly was a nice surprise to open the mailbox and find my grenade and cone adapter. :love

Thanks Russ!

Man, I can not wait and why in the wold is no one posting up some pics!! Congrats on getting your pieces. I am so excited. This saber has been an obsession of mine for the last 10 or 11 years and I've had different ones that I've never been happy with more than a few weeks. This set of parts will be my last.

Here's everything.

The booster is a Serafino. Everything else is from Russ. They came out even nicer than I had ever imagined.

The postmark on the Royal Mail sticker says it was mailed on the 18th so it made it over, passed through customs, and was delivered in 3 days. :thumbsup

Very nice!! Wow, I can't wait. I had no ideal it could arrive that fast. I hope I get my stuff this week. I fear that aside from the booster, that I'll have separate packages for my tranistors, cone and grenade. I hope we get some info on the boosters...I'm sure they will look perfect. I am striving for accuracy and as much as I was thankful for Roman's booster, the top of the fins is too flat.
CeSquared, those pics look great!

Stupid question, but when you get your grenades, how can you tell the difference from steel and aluminum? I mean to make sure you didn't get an aluminum one instead of steel?

Well for starters aluminium is a LOT softer and lighter, and the appearance is different, I don't have any good comparison photos to hand though.

Aluminum is very light and has a very light color. Steel is heavy and has a slightly greyish tint. Aluminum will feel like it has a similar weight to the neck, steel will weigh a lot more.

You can see the visual difference in the Photo Posted by Howard in the thread. Oh, the aluminum one is in the middle.

All fins on boosters have flat looking edges, because they are so narrow compared to the radius of the original blank. The difference with my design (in that area) is that the fins are very narrow. The other key difference is in the shape of the rounding at the ends of the fins, which is the feature I am most proud of. ;)

Thanks alot! I would be so bummed if that happened which I don't think it will, but being unfinished and all, I just wanted to make sure that it is steel as really want to do a proper weathering job when it arrives.. Fingers crossed for Monday!:love

Leave it out in the rain for a few days an you'll soon find out whether it's steel or aluminium! :love

So does anyone else have a problem with the fit of the sleeve around the windvane?
When the grenade is vertical the sleeve just slips down off the windvane. :eek

To be clear, I don't believe this to be a design issue, but a machinist issue.

Man you guys are killin' me. BTW, congrats to you for getting your packages. I'm sure it was exciting to open them up for the first time.

Just tweek a few of the vanes 'out'?

As for ally/steel detection - use a magnet (steel magnetic, ally not).

I used just a tiny amount of superglue on the inside edge of the sleeve, where the vanes meet the sleeve. Job done.

Boba Debt, Russ says that some cones went out with grenades and some out separately. Seems it would be easier shipping all in one package going internationally, but I'm sure Russ had his reasons. I know I have at least 2 packages coming from him as he said my package with grenade was already packaged before my cone and transistors. Here's hoping they get here this week. They truly are works of art.
A nice thing is I purchased a steel Russ Balancepipe replica from another member that is an international shipment as well, but he included a tracking number. It's nice to be able to anticipate when a package is going to arrive.
