Rubies suit help

Do you have one? Can you take pictures from different angles, I've only seen the stock photos.

Also, do you know what everything is made of? I'm assuming the armor is latex, what about the body suit?

I think a better paint job would go a LOOOOONG way. And someone on here made a faceless mask from the rubies mask and if you got a good bio and some dreads, that helps a lot.

Also, is the body suit and armor one piece?

I'll be getting the costume on wednesday and I'll take pictures asap and put them up for everyone to see and also get some info

Depending on your time factor, getting the Rubies AVP Suit modified to look more 3-D will be a project that may stretch well beyond Halloween.

With that in mind, I offer up a few basic preliminary ideas for modding the suit and armor:

- Repaint the skin suit so that the netting print will be gone. Then you can put some real Predator colors and patterns over it.
I suggest a liquid latex/acrylic paint mixture for flexibility.

- Use Fun Foam to finish the half-piece armor parts.(Back plate, gauntlets, shin armor) Super glue should work well for that. Then paint to match the existing pieces or repaint the armor completely.

-Get a full mask. I was told by one of the sellers that the Rubies mask that comes with the suit is only a half-mask and has no dimensionality to it.

Hope these tips get you off to a good start. You've got your work cut out for you!!! Good Luck!

Thanks man. I already have custom gauntlets, hands, feet, and a mask. If I simply repaint the skin how long do u think that would take me?

Depends on the weather honestly. If the latex will dry fairly quickly, you should be able to get 3 coats within a couple of days and then the painting can take 1-2 days if you work on it efficiently. (I'm including drying time.) Are you planning on using an airbrush?

If you go with simple spray paint(Light brown and some darker colors for detailing and markings) you could have the suit repainted in a very short time. It is likely to be a temporary skin so does not have to be perfect or done in latex at all. Just getting rid of that pre-printed pattern on the fabric will be an improvement.

Otherwise, B & B-D is pretty much spot-on with the estimate on time and labor.
