As much as I'd like to pick one of the sabers, the gun from Space 1999 has always been one of my favorite designs. Very creative.

For me, got a soft spot for the Sandman Flamegun. Nothing like popping that off in a crowded room.

As much as I love the Solo ANH blaster as well as the E 11--I have to say the Sandman Flame pistol as well--the one in the pics is a working model as well.

Tough one. It's the Pulse Rifle, BR Blaster, Dooku sabre and Endorifle, all of them jostling for first place...


I'm afraid it's got to be the Pulse Rifle in the end.
I've seen Aliens more times than any other film in my life, so it had to be, really.

But I would agree it would be a lightsaber, and probably it would be the Ep 4 Luke that is the king.
First saber seen, dazzled us all at the time, and is probably recognized around the world.
As much as I love space "guns" for many regular folks they are just guns, and plenty of people don't know that there are no real guns that look like that. A lightsaber is so beyond real life (I know that laser and blasters are as well, but they still look like something real) and it is that "magic" that makes them special.

Well, I too am a huge freaking fan of the BR blaster, but also of the pulse rifle. I do enjoy a well made Solo blaster too. I'm a fan of the base gun in that instance, and any time I see it used creatively I smile.

However, because it's the first gun I ever saw in a movie and thought "I have to have one of those." my vote is:

The Blade Runner Blaster. :love

I'm sure no one is suprised. :lol

Star Trek Phaser....first "ray gun" I wanted when I was younger...followed close by the Sandman gun.

I have to say my all time favorite and all pourpose "weapon" in a pinch would have to be a phaser.

For me it is a tie between the Skywalker ESB light saber & Deckard's pistol from Blade Runner. If these 2 pieces hadn't appeared in your picture, I would've picked them anyway.

I'm with Darth Lars.

Something about a "laser sword" that defies all logic and physics that is just the coolest to me.

Doesn't anyone remember how cool it was when Obi-Wan sliced off Walrus Man's arm in the Mos Eisley cantina?.?
