ROTJ

Portumac sells decent ones. Sith Armor are great sellers but I dont know if they sell chestbox kits.

If you are going for the best ROTJ box, the Gino box is the best hands down. Nothing comes close. It is the centerpiece of my ROTJ Vader, although I am looking to switch to ESB and want to trade my Gino ROTJ for a Gino ESB.

Forgive my ignorance, but despite months of reading Vader-related sites while creating my own costume (Sith Training Temple, RPF, others), there are still some makers who elude me. I've found some, such as Portumac, SithPlanet, SithArmor, etc., but others are still a mystery to me.

For instance, how does one find a link to:

Gino
JB
TE

Are there other makers I'm neglecting to mention?

A list of well-known makers with contact info would be a great resource for me.

Cheers,
Doc

None of these really produce items anymore, although you may find bits and bobs flaoting around the JY or ebay.

Well that it not entirely true. Gino still makes some stuff, I know that JB is still making helmets but I can't comment on TE as I am not a trooper guy. :)

Yeah, it certainly isn't cheap.... I know all about that. :(

I've purchased vader items from portumac, sitharmor, and sithplanet
i would definately recommend portumac's hard products like helmets/chestbox/belts etc, the reveal vader helmet i got from him was perfect.
A+ <---because of quality and large selection, but pricey

Sitharmor does very nice pieces, especially the cod and vader belt, they were cheaper than portumac as well.
A+ <--because of pricing

I haven't purchased chest boxes/belts from Sithplanet, but a few of my buddies purchased vader helmets from him, the reveal bits and pieces would fall off very easily and glue stains were everywhere. On the dome, you could see bubbles on the resin and patterns like snowflakes on it. I suspect it was due to a bad job in prepping & painting.
C <---decent pricing, but poor quality

I think a ebayer named Bat mexico or something like that sells ROTJ pieces too, i've heard good things about him on starwarshelmets.com

Sorry to hijack, but does anybody have a lead for an ACCURATE Vader ESB belt???

I´m looking for one to complete my Vader mannequin.

Markus

Sparrowfan,

What you said is true about all those sellers is true. But none of their stuff is accurate unfortuantely. Portumac sells GT chestboxes which are far from accurate..... his belts look ok but again not accurate and he has the nicest stuff out of the three sellers.

I think that for Mark's purposes Portumac or SithArmor would be fine. However, me as an accuracy nut wouldnt buy anything from him. Then again, I am spending way too much money also. :)

Your best bet is to find the right measurements for the boxes and find a company that makes steal boxes i had a link but i lost it :unsure and build one your self if you get a set of russes knobs and cut them down to a more accurate size. After looking at screen caps a little work and a lot of patiences, will make a differences ;)

Well, have you any of that money you can part with, can you send it via paypal in UK pounds sterling? :D

DARTHBLADE has some pretty useful tips and contact info. Bernardo's (BAT) stuff isn't all that terrific (IMHO). Personally, I'd save up the money for GINOs chest box.

Well, I spent it all on props so there is none left over. Sorry Mark... :)

I can set you up with some metal belt boxes if interested :)

These are great boxes Mark, I have a set myself. Now all I have to do is get off my a$$ and paint them and assemble everything. :)

Hey Boba Frett

Are these boxes accurate to the ones they used on the ESB belt?
What else would I need to create a 99% correct belt?

Got pics/ additional information..please mailto:eek:dendall@t-online.de

Thanks, Markus :)

Markus,

They are pretty darn close if not right on. You'll need the knobs, green lights, red light, hose and a battery pack to hook up all the electronics and a leather belt and buckle.

I have all the items I need to do my belt but I have been slow in getting it started and now with Christmas around the corner I probably won't get a chance to do it until after the holidays.

Thanks for the offer for the boxes, but the problem with me is i don't have the patience to be putting the kit together. I'm looking for a all in one complete belt etc. I would have very little time for working on props anyhow as i am trying to get work completed to sell my house. :)

I would advise you to contact portumac Mark. That is your best bet if you can't do it yourself. Also, you may want to start a thread in the JY asking for a belt and ask for advice if you are uncertain about buying it. Cheers.
