Rocketeer Pack Vacuformed ?

Ahoy kids - now we all know that the Rocketeer pack is expensive as hell if you buy a full resin kit, but has anyone ever tried doing a vacuformed version or hell - one riveted out of aluminum ?

I've been in love with this costume since i was a sperm - so it's way up on my list.

in the long run, i think its easier to build your own than rely on someone else to make one. that way you have your own blood, sweat and tears in it. i also wont be making it for sale.

I also dig the wee history lesson - brilliant stuff.

So now that I've seen it's within my means where can I find some high res photos of this sucker ? Or at least some great reference ?

my absolute best reference has been eyeballing the resin kit build from the third link. some jerk borrowed my rocketeer movie and hasnt returned it.

from what i understand no. im not an expert on rocketeer stuff. evil rocketeer has a lot of useful information on the rocket pack, you might have some luck pming him.

The acme kit was not casted from the original..I can't go full into detail due to several reasons, but basically the acme kit is part recast and part sculpted. The acme maker got his hands on one of the earliest rocketpack kits. Well, basically it was the first kit available. The earliest kits mold was made from a copy of a copy of an original that was supposedly found in a trash dumpster. What I was told, it lacks certain qualities an original had due to some other reasons which again I cant go fully into detail...Well, the acme maker got his hands a poorly pulled kit..He copied the middle section of the pack and sculpted the rest to make the acme kit..

I hope my vague response somewhat cleared things up...haha..
