Robotiki's Robots

In the "new intro" section, somebody asked for more images of my stuff. It's some props and some toys, so some of this may be a bit off topic for this forum, but here goes anyway. I have a bunch of full size robots an a ton of smaller ones. I do model, mostly off the shelf kits, but I've done a few more custom things like my Earth v. Flying Saucer diorama, shown here about half done.....

I forgot Dewey. Dewey I bought with the intention of making him more screen accurate and fixing his graphics. For now he just tends my garden when I'm not home.

Nice! Are all the "big guys" from Fred Barton?
I love the little robot collection on the shelves and the saucer crashing into the White House!

Of course Robby is by Barton. In this case, so is B9, predating any B9 club, Icons & etc. The rest came from a variety of sources. Maria is from Strauss company in Germany, she doesn't have the big J-lo butt of the Ackerman copy Fred sells. Gort was bought and finished here in FL and Dewey was also a local find.

Awesome collection Robotiki! I love the Maria.

What part of Florida are you in?

Hey, that's nice start on that collection. :)

Kidding aside, it's awsome. I especially like the display with the glass blocked wall. It seems to give it that otherworldly vibe.

Awesome collection and the maria is stunning! Thanks for the source info. Been to the B9 builders site, do you know if there is one for robby as well?

I may be wrong but from my understanding the guy who has the rights to build Robby won't allow or something along those lines. I can't remember but will get corrected here shortly lol
Fred Barton owns the rights to reproduce full scale replica robbies. I have asked him if he had any interest in being involved with a Robbie builders club, and he (in a nutshell) said NO. He sent me a long pre-written letter explaining why he could not, would not, and I, or anyone else in the world better not build one.
I believe Warner Bros. owns the actual copyright, and Fred paid a hefty sum to reproduce these robots.

Not to side track my first real thread on a topic that has been discussed on the RPF forum to death, many many times, you are correct in the above statements. Fred Barton Productions pays large royalties to Time /Warner for the license to produce these and that is defended by their battery of corporate lawyers very very aggressively.

If you want to read more on that, root around the RPF forum for more threads that discuss it in detail.

If you want to know more about my collection or comment on it, this is the place for that.
