Robocop 2014 Pistol Build

Hey Robo lovers,

I am not sure if the new film will good or dump all over the original, but from what I have seen so far it has peaked my interest.

Once I have finished my TDKR EMP build, this is next.

I have a really talented 3D artist working away on the design, most parts will be printed on my Makerbot but some more detailed could be sent out to Shapeways.
I know there are a few alterations needed, but I think it is looking good so far.
What do you think ???

I think your artist did a great job. but for my personal taste in guns. this one just doesn't get It for me. looks like a regular gun shoved into a futuristic partial holster. the gun in the poster looks better to me than the actual one. but It could just be an angle thing...
 
Looks good. It's a cool scifi gun but i agree with the partial holster look or it has a fancy silencer setup of some sort. Can't wait to see it printed up.
 

I agree, this NI-408 isn't as impressive as Old Robo's Auto-9.
It does look like a casing around an existing pistol, I just wish someone could identify it ?

I am more excited about his sub-machine gun in the other leg, it looks like it expands before firing.

Either way, I will be doing that one as well I think.

I'm with Sean... Give me the original Robo gun... this looks like it came out of a video game. Curious to see how it turns out for you, but alot of what I am seeing in the reboot does not really float for me....

this is what I was talking about. the poster gun looks totally different to me. I like the one in the poster..

It is different, but has similarities as well from what I can tell.

I bet it is an upgraded model to what Robo starts out with, probably happens when they change him from blacks to silver.
 
Very similar. but It looks to me like the back of the gun Is a little more uniform to the front..
 
This is the pistol I am making, definitely going to have a crack at the sub-machine gun when some better shots appear.


 
with the bottom of the grip looking the way it does and the size of the actor without the robo suit on (6' 2 1/2") fairly tall. this weapon (pistol) appears to be a magnum research desert eagle. pretty well modified of course. but with the safety at the rear where it looks like it is and the grip that's my guess. and the face that they can bolt on whatever they want to it because the weapon as a fixed barrel and just the rear of the pistol moves, with the railed barrel it is more than able.
could be the prop guys for this movie grabbed an airsoft Gas Blow Back desert eagle and went to town modifying it. just my 2 cents with what bit I know of firearms.
this is all based on the screen shot still not the movie poster.

I know not the best but since I found these images on IMDB FIREARMS I am more convinced that it is a modified desert eagle. based whole on the grip and size to the subject and having fired one before. they are massive pistols.
 
have a play on the iphone game...you'll notice omnicorps other tactical weaponary...including that slightly larger gun he's holding in his left hand above...not if they'll all feature in the film, but you get a nice shot of some of them.
