Robert Pattinson to star as NEW Marty McFly

This morning I woke up with the song from BTTF stuck in my head. Which lead me to think about BTTF and how classic that film is....which lead me to think it won't be long until Hollywood tries to remake it with some stupid lead role....

I went as far as thinking about making a website about "leaked" information of such a remake with Pattinson as lead....just to start an internet rumor. Alas, I am too lazy and not that cruel! :lol

A 3D CG version would be the only hope for another sequel. Original voice actors...but it would have to be done without going completely over the top. CG means dinosaurs, futuristic possibilities, etc, but a nice visit to a realistic era in the past would be fun.

Or does the Polar Express count (it dabbles in time freezing and has a Flux Capacitor).

Absolutely hated this idea for GB3, but I think it could work amazingly for a BTTF4!!!

Man, I would rather see good franchises squeezed to death over and over in the crappiest sequels than some of this new stuff out there.:lol

BTTF is about as un-continuable as any big franchise could possibly get.

Could a team of hot writers dream up excuses & fixes for the continuity & aging problems? Sure, I imagine they could.

But that isn't enough to make new stuff worthy of the originals. There are too many deeper problems with trying to revisit that world now. Even rebooting/remaking it would be pretty unworkable IMO.

holy thread necromancy, batguy!!!

If you think of the timing, the "present" is the OT's "future", and when Marty goes "back", he'll go back to 1985. His parents will be playing NES.

Wow, I totally didn't notice how old this thread was! Sorry. It's not a normally habit of mine.

Somebody was talking about recasting BTTF on another forum and I ended up thinking about this.

Never saw this thread first time around. As far as I'm concerned, the recent retro-style BTTF game was the best way to add to the franchise. It was fun, nostalgic and full of easter eggs. Plus one of our own RPFers provided Marty's voice (and I for one, couldn't tell the difference).
