I'd like to get a mask/neckbrace together.
I'd like to get a small Raod wrrior prop group together to go next to my Falcon and Mack truck.

actually I believe it's a vintage hockey mask with the plastic or paint removed

Search for "Mylec" hockey masks. They are some similar but the holes are not correct and you will have to dremel to correct it.

Hey there,

Have you checked at the Mad Max Movies forum/message board? The mask is talked about over there and also the exact make and model of hockey mask used. ;-) I cannot recall the info, but i have read the threads in discussion of the mask used. Also these pop up on ebay every once in awhile. With the correct mask, all the modifications can be done to it.

Look for a Cooper HM6 hockey mask.
There's one on eBay right now.

So, got the mask, and it's in perfect condition.
Stripped the straps, and am ready to start hacking out how this is gonna work.

I'm worknig on getting screencaps, and will go from there, but as I look at it now, it appears the mask in the film was either heated and reshaped, or was vac formed over the real mask. There's a few tell tale signs on the mask in the film, and we'll go over them once caps are up.

The neckbrace is fairly easy, and scuplting it won't be a big deal at all. it appears that I was made from or made to look like an innertube from a tire, then riveted at the front and the rear. The rods around the brace are simple springs.

I agree with the vacuform theory. The shot from the rear show the mask material to be thinner than the real plastic face mask.

I can't think of why they'd do this though.

Probably cause the mask hurts like heck when you put it on . .not that I wandered the house wearning it mind you . . .yeeeaa, that's the ticket!:lol

The creekbones are pretty tight on the mask, and from what I see, that's pretty spread out on the prop.

I can also totally see what you mean Nick in the behind shot.

I could make the wrist bracers he's wearing if I had a good screen capture of it. I don't have Road Warrior on blue ray yet, but this would be a good excuse to get it.

Super excellent MFP! Great grabs! I've got them and his leather gear is no problem for me at all. The measurements need to be exact of course. There's no adjustment visible on the harness contraption. But the design would be easy enough to replicate. Thanks again for posting those links. My goal is to be able to make anything leather related from all of our favorite movies (I'm 37 and had a classic movie upbringing).
