This is a double whammy as I just found out that Gary Collins died on Oct. 13 and right below him was the Alex Karras obit, who died three days before.
I was never a sports fan but even I had heard of Alex Karras as a youngster, helped that we lived in Windsor across the river from Detroit!
Being a GREAT fan of Mel Brooks I loved Blazing Saddles and is one of my favs and Mongo has to be one of the all time memorable characters in all of Brooks' films!
And Webster, a show I loved, with his wife Susan Clark, another fav of mine and the cute Emmanuel Lewis! A perfect combination which ran through most of the 80's!
RIP Alex, Mad Duck, Papadapolis, Mongo, you will ALL be missed greatly!
