RIP Chadwick Boseman / Black Panther

43 yrs old !?... amazing actor and surely a promising role model for many. My sincerest condolences to his family. 2020 hasn’t been kind nor fair to so many families around the world... known and unknown... RIP

This breaks my heart. He was an iconic Black Panther! They said he battled it for four years... that means it was going on during the filming of some great Marvel performances. It's so sad for children who just lost their hero. I hope he rests in peace and love.

Rest In Power!

Rest in Peace, Mr.Boseman.Your legacy will always be (appreciated).

Genuinely really sad news, I couldnt care less about the state of blackpanther 2, we all know disney would just get another actor...

But damn this is sad, he was a really good actor, and I even watched 21 bridges a couple of nights ago, and was thinking I really want to see more from him. :/

I suspect that because he had got colon cancer at such a young age, that perhaps he had carried a hereditary condition for it. That's because I have that myself, discovered after I had got diagnosed and treated for colon cancer at age 35.

Guys and gals, if there is ANYTHING I can stress to the community here, is to get your colo-rectal cancer screenings performed.
Indeed. Especially if you're over 50 y/o, you should get a colonoscopy it every five to ten years.
Colon cancer is a silent killer. For those who haven't done a colonoscopy, it is often not discovered before it is too late.
However, a mutation normally takes years to develop into a polyp and from a polyp into a tumour, and if discovered during a colonoscopy, the polyp can be nipped easily then and there.

I am too scared to get endoscopy through the mouth, but a colonoscopy is a walk in the park in comparison. Because of my condition I get one almost every year.
The worst part of the procedure is the prep, but if you do it right then you are clean and it is not icky.
You can get sedated if you want to, but I just relax and watch the screen.

Please allow me the time to rant a little, because I am taking this one a bit personally.

first of all, I am a 51-year-old white man. I was a child actor, who got out of the business when I developed a love for writing. I am a published author, and also an administrator at the hospital I work at.

I do not have any type of degree whatsoever. My parents could not afford college.

I worked to get everything that I have, and up until a few years ago I thought it was my hard work alone that got me here.

I have however sadly been forced to realize that white privilege is a reality. I say that because I have been married to a beautiful black woman for the past 32 years, and together we have two beautiful black daughters.

sadly, in the backwards, racially divided world that we live in, they will never have the opportunity to get the things that I did simply by working for them.

I sent them both to college. My oldest is an executive level employee, and my youngest is in college to become a mechanical engineer.

what I loved the most about his performances was that he was a kind hearted performer, never hogging the spotlight, but generously sharing it with all of his costars.

The black panther never once even dawned on me was a movie with an all black cast. Because I don’t see the color of a persons skin, it didn’t even resonate with me until it was pointed out on social media afterwards.

I understand the ugly reality of the world we live in, and we need more empowered black men and women that can inspire the world to change their minds and their hearts and see all of us on an equal playing field.

His movies did just that, and I thank him for being such a true inspirational multi racial inspirer of others.

I wish to thank you for taking one of the many steps along the path that will help to finally put the ugly reality of racism behind us.

I found this post on another site and wanted to share:
I went to the opening show in his hometown of Anderson, SC. Before the movie started, a short message from Boseman played. There were a lot of kids in the front rows and they were giggling when the message started up. At first I thought it was a gag open like Captain America's PSA gym video in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

But it wasn't. Boseman was speaking personally, not in character. He wanted the viewers to know how grateful he was to be a part of this film in particular, because it gave people who looked like him a kind of hero that he didn't have on the big screen growing up. In the days that followed, I asked people online if they had seen that message before the showing in other cities, and nobody had.

I later found out that he'd bought tickets for over 300 children in Anderson to attend the opening weekend.

Dont sell yourself so short, While it is indeed true the racial divide in america is shockingly bad... you still had to work and earn where you are now.
Race alone doesnt get you anywhere...

I say this as a white semi middle class person, who lives in the UK... Who frankly is struggling big time to build some semblance of a life, being unemployed and finding it impossible to find skilled work. Being white alone doesnt give me everything I want...

But this isnt to say that black people esp in america dont have it harder than white people. They really do. What we have all seen this last year alone has shocked and angered a lot of us to the core, but I better avoid talking about it more as I dont want to get banned for political posting.

But what really amazes me about Chadwick Boseman is that he worked tirelessly and became a massive international star, and secured his families future through exceptionally hard work, all while battling and suffering with one of the cruelest of diseases.

That alone says more about his character as a person than anything else I think... Truly an exceptional man.
