RIP Luke Perry

That's awful! way too early to go.
Even though it was probably going to be cheesy, I was looking forward to seeing him on the new 90210

WOW!!!!

Just heard a few days ago about the reboot with some of the old cast members

Way to young

RIP! Waaaaay to young!

Love it or hate it.. it was a definitely a 'trend' in my school days, and pave the way for the hair and side burns of that day!

^^ Not to mention some of the fashions, I used to wear a Baja all the time and no one said anything until Dylan started wearing one, and all the questions came as to what it was and where to you get one.

I saw them in stores in a few months going for INSANE prices, $60.00 to a $100.00

Got mine off the beach in Cancun in 1988 for $ 5.00

I always found it strange that after 90210 the hype train thought Luke Perry was going to be the next big thing... He even "Stared" in 5th Element... I mean they put his name on the poster to try and make the film appeal to the 1995 movie goer... (was it 95 or 97...?)

Anyway like I say I found it strange that his big time career really fizzled out...

But yes shocking... Stroke at 52 years old... Its nothing

He did a couple B-list movies if I recall too (too lazy to go to IMBD!..lol)

As far as I'm concerned... he was chosen for 'looks' and 'appeal'...... (not because he was a great actor).. :S

That’s scary stuff...52 is waaaay too young to have passed on.

Time, in the end, is the most valuable thing that you possess that you can never get more of; make the most of the time that you have been given.

So saddened by the news of his passing. 52yrs is way too young!! ! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends at this sad time.

I saw this and was really surprised today. Way too young. I knew the other day when Shannen Doherty said something like "keep him in your prayers" that it was worse than we thought.

Back in the day I called him "Puke Larry".
I feel bad about that now...

RIP, LP.

As others have said: Way too young.

Over the 90210 years I had worked on various episodes from the original Class of Beverly Hills pilot to the final season and have to say, LP was one of two OG cast members that retained a level head even at the height of the series popularity. He would regularly take time out to talk with fans between filming. Something many may not know is to keep the series going there would be two separate episodes being filmed at the same time between two stages. That kept things very hectic for cast and crew with much added stress for the cast. When LP first left the series things did change tone on set and what went missing was a grounded sense of equality. When he returned it wasnt announced yet while he was filming episodes if I recall. If memory serves I was sitting at a Peach Pitt After Dark table fiddiling with a drink menu prop when he sat down. There was something a little different about him upon his return. He was much more private, reserved and quiet all around. He didnt seem upset about being back but also didnt seem to enjoy it either. He was still a class act to fans and those around him. Just a normal all around good guy that understood his place at the time. Thats rare in Hollywood.

My wife watched 90210 every week, and as best I can remember that's how I became aware of Mr. Perry. I can't say I was a fan, but I didn't dislike him either; he seemed to be far less "full of himself" than a lot of actors, and I appreciated that quality. Based on the online posts I've read by his friends and co-workers (both previous and current) about how generous he was with his time and acting as a "father figure/mentor" to some of his younger co-stars, he seemed to be the type of person you'd want as a friend.

It's unfortunate and sad that he died so young, but it's apparently more common than most people think to suffer a stroke under the age of 65. Also, according to the "experts" once we reach the age of 55 we're all just ticking time bombs as far as strokes are concerned, and the chances of suffering a stroke more than double with each decade above that age. Not a particularly bright outlook for our respective futures, but as the prophet Morrison said, "No one here gets out alive."

My sister was a fan as well as some of my other friends in my neighborhood growing up. I didn't follow his career or anything but he seemed like he was a pretty down to earth guy when I saw interviews of him. It's a shame he's gone so young. There aren't a lot of level headed people in that industry.
