D.C. Fontana, Pioneering ‘Star Trek’ Writer, Dies at 80

Dorothy Catherine "D.C." Fontana, the first female writer for 'Star Trek' who created a number of classic episodes, has died, according to the sci-fi property's official site. She was 80.

She was a great influence not only on TOS but Next Gen as well

Oh, this is sad news! So sorry to see her go; she was very talented!

She was so brilliant. When I was a youngster I had no idea D.C. was a woman, until I saw interviews with her in the late 80's.
Said she used initials on scripts to prevent sexism in the industry from dismissing her work.

Probably not good stories. RODDENBERRY was not the saint Trekers make him out to be. He was quite the womanizer. I'm surprised he didn't have a fling with her too.

Now Robert Walker Jr , Charlie of Charlie X , DC Fontana’s first script has passed away at 70 on Dec 5

3 days after DC how strange is that?

I saw that last night. No matter what he was in I always thought of him as Charlie. The faceless women in the Enterprise corridor still creeps me out. NO LAUGHING!
