RIP Captain Phil (Deadliest Catch)

Wow... all those cigarette packs and Red Bulls must've finally gotten to him. Rest in peace, Phil!

This sucks! Capt Phil was the most enertaining to watch IMO. He will be missed. I hope his family is doing well. RIP Phil.

I was really hoping he'd pull through... Phil and Sig are my favorite captains. :cry

yea this sucks he seemed like he was a great guy and sig and phil weremy favorites. It really did seem like he was doing better last time I watched, which was about the middle of the last season.

RIP good captain

Man the show wont be the same without him ripping into his kids.....Pleasant Journeys Cap. Phil :thumbsup

I started just recently watching this show on channel 58 here in KY. I don't have cable. I really like the show. It's sad that Capt Phil passed away. Here's to ya Captain. May your journey to heaven be safe.

Early on, Deadliest Catch pretty much focused on how many crab were caught, and how dangerous it is.
But the crab count gets boring fast, and the show soon focused mainly on the people who inhabit the boats. My wife and I have become emotionally invested in these people, the Harris', the Hansens, and the Hillstrands, even the Colburns, who weren't really my favorites early on.
We were concerned when Phil got sick a couple of seasons ago, and the news of his stroke, while not a surprise as he lived a very hard (and unhealthy) life, was met with sadness.
His passing leaves a bit of a void in our hearts, and we will miss him.

After his hospital visit last season it seemed only a matter of time. RIP Captain Phil we hardly knew you but you'll be missed...

FYI, this Saturday (02.20.10), Discovery channel will be airing a 15 hr marathon of Deadliest Catch in Captain Phil's honor.

I know how I'll be spending my weekend... just hope I have enough tissues in the house!:cry
