Built over the last few months, for a family member.
Materials:
Kydex
Plastic dome head screws
bicycle brakes
plastic tubing
glass beaker clamps
misc bits n bobs
pringle lids
lots of hot glue + barge
Rust paint

Made a mock up from cardboard, then used this to create a pattern for the kydex.
Here is the main frame complete:

For the gears, I used Pringle lids, then a Dremel with a grinding bit to hollow out the gear teeth. The whole point was to keep the mask as light weight as possible.
The completed mask:




Next paint, 2 coats of Modern Masters ME208-16 Reactive Metallic Iron, 16-Ounce
Then 2 coats of Modern Masters PA904-16 Rust Activator, 16-Ounce
The rust forms within 30 mins, this is after about 10 hours (overnight):
