Revell V8 reissue?

Is the Revell V8 kit thats available now a reissue of the vintage kit or somthing completly new?

Yes the early ones have all the parts you need, the newer version is missing the motor coil and fett ee-3 stock greeblie i think , there is another company that did it before revell as well but i cant think of the name right now :rolleyes

I might still pick one up as a curio but the parts I'm looking for are part #84 Distributer Retainer and #98 Motor coil plate for my gestating blaster project.

Ahh renwal thats the one , Zoltar I have a mold of the motor coil if you want one save buying the whole kit, send me an SAE and you can have one for nowt:eek:)

I think this part is only on the pre 1977 kits as well.

Im trying to locate a few parts if anyone has extras.They are
#92 Cover,starting gear case(Fett stock)
#97 Battery Box Top
#98 Switch Plate,battery box (motor coil)

I remember this kit when I was younger. There seemed to be a major design flaw with the finished product though, the electric motor seemed to provide too much torque for the plastic parts to handle. The cam shaft eventually broke because of this. Probably why the motor was removed in later releases of the kit. There was also a problem with the plastic parts getting snagged - particularly the pistons - even after sanding with high-grit paper, using a buffing wheel with a dremmel and dousing the thing in plastic-friendly oil, it still had a tendency to get hung up in various places, which probably also contributed to the cam shaft problem. Great idea, but bad execution, IMHO.
