Republic Commando clone Helmet on ebay

I looked at the bidding sequence and noticed the bid jumped from 350 to 4,000, so I thought 'oh crap, he was trying to enter 400 and put in one zero too many.

But then that doesn't explain the winning bidder's 4,050 bid...

Maybe it's someone who put in an inordinately high bid just to be sure he won and then got psuhed way up by someone else trying the same thing...

I'll bet the seller wet himself when he saw how it ended...

Since it's roughly on-topic, what's a ballpark figure for what a RC helmet, armor, and weapon would sell for? I'm guessing at this point it's still a seller's market?

The person who put that auction up said that both of those high bidders accidentally entered in too many zeroes. He posts on CT.net.

I looked at that bidding history. Looks like at least one person wanted the helmet, and posted a high bid, and the second sniped it, placing an insane high bid to make sure they win. One of them may well have entered a wrong amount... but... The winner is liable, and should pony up the dough. The seller, after all, has to pay all those fees. Also depends on how nice the seller is.

The seller will have to pay out a bit in Ebay Fees for 4Ks. :p

Ouch.. yup. If anything, that's a good lesson for people to not set your automatic max too high, in case someone else screws up with a zero. :D

Nah, he can just claim non-paying bidder and relist the item can't he?

Filing a non paying bidder opens a dispute. If the winner doesn't reply to the dispute within a certain time, then the money/fees are refunded. If he replies in any way, shape or form, the seller is screwed.
