Removing panel lines?

Hello all,
Planning to build an older AMT Enterprise D and need help/suggestions on best way to remove the panel lines/texture on the model kit.. any suggestions other than sanding?

Remove them totally? Filler or a sandable filler/primer might work.

Recessed lines can be filled with sand-able primer. Raised details can be sanded or chiseled off (scraped with an exacto chisel blade). Chiseling will remove large raised details quickly, but sanding will still be needed to get a smooth surface. Get the major stuff off and then spray sand-able primer on and sand down with a sanding block or sponge to where most of the primer is off then repeat, and repeat, and repeat, until there are no high or low spots. Long and tedious work, but the only way to get a surface devoid of detail.

LOL, no i didn't get the clear one... that was just for reference..
Bought an old grey one on eBay... should get here soon.

Files might make fast work of of some areas. Orher than that, sanding is probably your best option. Use wet/dry sandpaper wet for best results.
