Removing paint from latex

Hey guys, any info or suggestions on removing paint from latex. I recently acquired some pieces that I want to repaint as they were not painted with a latex or prosaide based paint and the paint is cracking. I know if I paint directly over it the new paint will end up cracking as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I already tried the search feature with no results.

Unless someone has a very easy method....then nope, it's not easy.

I used a lot of warm water, soft dish-scrubbers & a toothbrush, as well as a lot of time in the bathtub!

Hey Leatherneck i had same problem with a cod piece and cracking paint ... I found that if you roll the latex between your fingers so that it cracks even more you can use a wire brush to get it off but brush gently so as not to scrub the latex then a wash in mild soapy water and a scourer to get the stubborn bits... hope this helps bud...
