Remembering my tenure with Stan Winston

well the the P2 hunter had some samurai to it, they also talk about that on the dvd :(

It would really be great to see some more predator stuff from you, it really would. I have burned your movie down one a dvd and made a real cover and its standig next to all my 14 predator dvd´s :(
I really like your work and it was great to hear from you.

And you will, trust me. Predators of a different kind... It was time for me to do something original.
Something more... Me. Though influenced and certainly inspired by both the creature and the film,
My film puts a very interesting spin on the whole Predator concept... One I hope you will all in turn,
be inspired by, and hopefully support as well.

Stay tuned.

After the sudden death of Mr. Winston and some considerable disapointment by many on this forum and others with the AVP series thus far, you have arrived here just in time. Thank you for that. Your Predator concepts will be very well received here. I can't wait to hear more about your new concepts and the look of the creature itself.

I went to the memorial service for Stan Today... What a blessing to be included in this
amazing ceremony with so many talented and influencial people. I chatted with old friends
I hadn't seen or worked with in a while, and Joked and told stories with Arnold, Jim Cameron
Spielberg, and Sigourney Weaver about Stan, his incredible sense of humor, and all the projects
we'd worked on with him together and individually...

Good times. A truly sad day, but good times celebrating Stan. There were a lot of tears, and it was VERY emotional
service. Even Jim Cameron and Arnold were tearing up. Steve Wang was emotionally overwhelmed,
as well as Shannon Shea. We all were... Today, it all sank in. The king is dead. Long live the king.

Rest in Peace Stan. God Bless... I didn't realize how much I missed you until today.

Sandy, It's very nice of you to share these stories with us. Draws the Lair into a slightly closer net.

Stan, you will be missed, o_O

Glad to hear it was good service. Stories and the good times are what keeps him alive in all our hearts. He will be missed. It is the end of an era. Movies wont be the same. God speed Stan.

o_O :D Really well put Sandy, thanks for sharing your story with us in the here in the lair. I look foward to seeing present and future projects from you. You are an inspiration to many here as well.......Thank you for everything

Sandy, I appreciate your post here. Like many others I have seen so much of Stan through making-of programmes like Jurassic Park and Terminator 2 and magazine articles which show him as a loveble mentor to all movie fans, his collective work includes every one of my favourite creatures.
I have found great comfort in reading the comments of his friends and colleagues on the IMDB page, adding more insight into what he was like to know and work with, to also hear about the funeral helps those who are so far away (I'm in the UK) to have a decent amount of the picture of what it was like to be there. I guess that unlike some celebrities who pass away there are so many good stories worth sharing about Stan, these final memories help us all to mourn him.

Predian,

You are most welcome. Like Jim Cameron said at the service... Stan's work and his legacy are best appreciated by his fans.
It was a pretty heavy morning, but the stories made everyone smile through the sadness we were all feeling...

Theres nothing I can say that everyone else hasnt said, just thanks for making us all feel part of this very moving and sad day!
all the best!

sandy..

I knew you worked at SWS but didn't know you worked that close with Stan,,must have been great..I only wish to have met him in person..He is truly a mentor to any Artist and a Legend forever. I go though my SWS book that big book with tons of info and pictures and my mind is just boggled..so many things, so many years..only a love for it could carry something that far.

Also congrats on your Film project..look forward to seeing it:)

Wow Sandy. I think I could just sit and listen to you share your stories all day. What an experience!! You were truely blessed to have worked with Stan. :D

My heart breaks at the loss. o_O

Thanks for sharing Sandy, and beautifully written, and thank you for the update on the memorial service. I was actually searching to see if Arnold had made any comments in an interview or something but I figured he would be at the memorial services. It's been a month and I am still kind of shocked
