Red Dwarf Props - what's out there?

Someone asked me about doing a kryten head recently, pulling one of his gurning expresions, didn't know if there would be enough interest in a lifesize one, good show, wish they would do a movie

I'm not too keen about the gurning expession, but a lifesize Kryten head in neutral pose would be a great display piece - maybe something like this:

I have a few reference photos on file, eye details etc if you decide to do one Ian.

Thanks for posting the pics - what a great, simple prop too.:thumbsup

Emeldahay congratulations on that very fine purchase, I'm envious! Top Dwarf item there, I'm sure it'll be an awesome piece to own and display.

Please post some pics once it arrives.

I've just bought an electronic starbug. Looks like a nice little display piece to start my RD collection with. A little bit of airbrush work and I think it'll be good for display.

Here's a review I spotted by googling it: http://www.ganymede-titan.info/merchandise/playset.php

I'm very up for getting some screen used Dwarf pieces too - but, all in good time...

I'll post some pics of Starbug when it arrives.

Yup, that Strbug set is the same one I just ordered - £29.99 here in the UK.

The small scale Red Dwarf mothership is part of the Corgi collection, I believe.

The Corgi collection also had a small starbug too. Looked like a great item for the top of your monitor at work.

Those are some great props - especially Lister's snow jacket - Marooned is one of my favourite episodes.

I seem to remember a friend of mine who is a member on this forum knows the prop maker who made the Kryten spare head used in the shows. I will PM him and see if he could chime in if he possibly has any pictures. I think it was solid piece and is used when Kryton takes his head off and on.

I might be wrong but I will give him a shout and see if he has any good info or pics.

Cheers Chris.

Hi,

I PM'd my friend to see if he wanted to chime in and hopefully he will.

I am not saying this prop will become available or anything just he might have some info on the original piece used in the show like materials used etc or some pics of the original.

Anyway fingers crossed.

Cheers Chris.

I was ---> <---- this close to getting one of the baby skutters in the Bonhams auction about 10 years ago. :(

Would have been a cool purchase.

There were a number of 'mini skutters' realeased with a DVD set a while back. I wonder if anyone has made a full scale version?

Well, after years of replicating and owing prop replicas, I've just taken a leap into a larger world and purchased my first officially screen used prop. I've got a couple of 'cast from production molds' items, but never had anything screen used before now.

It's not exactly an iconic piece, but it is from one of my favouite shows, RED DWARF and I love the quirkiness of this prop. It's so LISTER... :lol

Leopard Lager Beer Can A Leopard Lager beer can used in the TV series Red Dwarf. The real full drinks can has a specially printed label with the fictional makers name. This style of can appears in the 8th season, most remembered when a scutter passes a six pack down through the ceiling for Lister (Craig Charles). This prop was purchased directly from Grant Naylor productions. 11 cm (4.5”) tall.

Leopard lager features throughout the books and TV show - same stuff was used to defeat the Vindaloo monster in one of the early seasons in a JAWS parody.:lol
