Saw this was bumped and thought there was an update.

Love this design. Would like this to be the look if they ever did a newer better live action movie...

It could work for sure.

Hey gang!

Sorry it's been a while since I've updated this thread. A massive freelance job ended up taking the majority of October, so I'm afraid I didn't finish him in time for Halloween. In a way, I'm glad - I'll be able to take him to a much higher level of detail with this extra time! I may also be able to make a resin bust of him, which I'd love. That could be a nice master for the long haul.

I've gotten back to work on him today. Here's where he stands:

This is a great build! Will you have wrinlkly type skin that can stretch, so when you put your arms in the shell it looks real? That would be awesome. Are you gonna have turtle kneepads?

Thanks for the continued support! I talked this weekend with a local FX shop about helping me to produce the mold and final castings, as I don't want to risk botching it at this point. Here's a shot of the newly-textured forehead ridges - and maybe the first front-on shot I've posted in this thread? His eyes are a little close together for the real "turtley" effect I'd like, but I do want to be able to see out of those lenses a bit at least.

Beak texture is still a work in progress - those lines are just sketched in.
