I was inspired to make myself the Hook ransom note after seeing Zenix's project run of these. (he does a nice job!)
I have never tried calligraphy myself before so I did a quick crash course using youtube and some advice from a local pen store.

The store set me up with the right nib and recommended using a Japanese ink which seems to flow nicely.

I will post my final images soon but here's work in progress...

I see, there are always people outside, who tried something out for the first time and it looks awesome...

I also have a zenix note, but I'm very interested to know what you have in mind about the size of the note...

Great job so far...

Good question.
I grabbed this image from the film which makes be think about 13" long (average fist to elbow).
Once I had that I did a perspective correction on the first image which makes the width around 10".

Can I ask where the screencap of the complete ransom not came from? I have the bluray and in the scene where the note is discovered on the door, the note is never seen completely. The camera is panning over it, but it is never completely in frame. Is this from a director's cut or from an extra or something?

I think I found it online. It must of come from the original film before the letter boxing was added for wide screen.
