I only recently saw the movie. I loved it. I'm really impressed with your costume. Great job. The fact that Gil Hibben worked on your knife is cool beyond words.

So do we know where the shirt came from? It it come from The Gap as well (I wouldn't doubt it). What about the cheap "Oriental Trading Company-looking" crucifix necklace? Or the watch? Anything definitive?

No they are not.
Jump boots do not have canvas sides
At least mine don't

Technically, anything can be a jumpboot. I used to jump in Jungle Boots, and I also had a pair of Corcoran jump boots with canvas sides that I would jump in....but not very often. Not much ankle support.

next time I talk to Kent the prop Master, I'll ask him more about the specifics of any of Rambo's costume. i know our shop made the Quiver, Necklace/Bracelet, some arrows, the knife, and a couple other things. maybe I can get some good info. Didn't know that Hibben made the R4 truck spring knife.. thought he made the R4 hunting/combat knife that yiou see in the deleted scenes. Since the guy that I know that made the machette looking knife made a few. I not only saw them but held them. But then again he has made knives that we have as well. Like the ST:Nemesis knife. We didn't just do rubber versions for the R4 knife. we had metal ones to.

A bit of information for anyone interested in buying a set of these pants--they run a bit long. I normally wear a 36" length, so that's what I ordered; they were at least 4" too long. I returned them for a 34" length, and they fit perfectly. And, btw, these pants are very comfortable!

Thanks for the info on them running long in the legs..... I normally get Levis & Wranglers in 32W-32L.... I ordered a few pair of these from the GAP since they're on sale, got the 32W-30L, & they fit perfect

Weird. I wear a 30 inseam, ordered a 30, and they fit fine. :confused

I'm going to order another pair with the coupon that came with them and get the next smaller waist size though. I have to use both of the waist adjusters on mine to keep them from falling off, and I ordered the same size I always wear. I guess mine were fine in the legs and big in the waist. Dang Sri Lankan craftsmanship! :lol

I got a pair of those pants. They are sweet. Indoors they look kinda brown but in natural light they look very green. They are so comfortable. I love them. I'll be ordering another pair.

Now we just need to figure out what that shirt is that he wears.

Indeed he did make the Rambo IV knife. Was quite shocked that he was not given credit in the featurette on the dvd. Sly lost a bit more of my respect because of that.

Just got my 2nd pair in the mail on Thursday. I LIKE 'em! thumbsup I wish they were a BIT thinner, as summertime in the south (95-100 degrees with high humidity = misery) almost makes wearing these pants torture. They're MUCH thicker than the carpenter/cargo pants I normally wear, and are really more suited to colder temps. They should be great this fall/winter, though. In any event, they're well made and should last a long time.

Using the 25% code made them less than $20 for me, plus shipping and tax. The total was about $27.

Now to find the SHIRT... :lol

They're incredibly rugged pants. No wonder Rambo wears them.

I bought 2 pairs too. They're heavy pants, and while they were kind of hot in the summer, they're perfect now in the fall/winter. I'm wearing a pair right now, in fact!

Unfortunately no. I have moved on. If I do find anything out I will update it in this thread though.

One update that I don't think I put on here was that his headband is made out of hemp batik fabric. That took enough online searching to make your eyes bleed. Check ebay for it. I have never found the exact same pattern and I'm sure nobody ever will since it is handmade.
